MASSIVE Beauty Haul

Thursday, July 17, 2014

So, I went a bit crazy this past weekend with purchasing some new beauty items to add to my collection. They were all mostly essential things that I actually needed - and others were just for fun (which is never really a bad thing, is it?). I was all over the board with these picks - from new makeup to various tools and brushes to body care and more!

Let's start with Thursday - I went to Ulta and purchased an eyelash curler and one of Rimmel London's Scandal Eyes Eye Paint in "Rich Russet" after reading about this particular product on one of my favorite beauty blogs. On Friday, since I didn't have to work until that evening, I went up to my local Belk and purchased two items which I am very excited about. The first came from Chanel - the Bronze Universal Embellisseur Effect Hālé Bronzing Makeup Base (that's definitely a mouthful). I'll actually be reviewing this product in a separate, individual post because it's that special to me. All I'll say right now is that it's an amazing product and totally worth the buy. Afterwards, I went over to the Clinique counter and played around with a quad set of Chubby Sticks for eyes. Clinique's Chubby Sticks are great for lips, but the ones for eyes are equally as incredible. The quad I bought is called "Grandest Greens," and buying these was quite a big step for me since I usually use browns, golds, and bronzes in my everyday eye makeup. These little guys will be getting their own post as well because they come with so much variety.

After leaving Belk, I traveled downtown to eat lunch and spend some time with one of my good friends. I always enjoy my time with her - we actually tried our first bubble teas that day! Although, I have to say it wasn't quite up to par compared to the "real" bubble teas we've seen. Regardless, after lunch we walked down King Street to Bluemercury, a prestige/luxury beauty and spa retailer known for selling NARSKiehls, and Bumble and bumble. Our idea was just to browse what they had, but I was pleasantly surprised that they carried my new favorite body wash line, Molton Brown. Upon receiving a sample of one of their scented body washes, I fell in love. So, naturally, I was ecstatic to be able to smell all the wonderfully unique scents Molton Brown offers. I decided to buy one, so I went with "Japanese Orange," and I am very happy with my purchase. I may even review it properly later once I acquire another body wash as well.

Lastly, I made my second trip to Ulta on Saturday. I purchased my first Real Techniques brush after reading and hearing so many good things about them. I bought the stippling brush for two reasons - one, it's the same brush the ladies use at the Chanel counter in Belk and I'm obsessed; and two, I'm on a bit of a budget. But I am so pleased with my Real Techniques already. Along with my brush, I bought another Rimmel London Eye Paint using the regular coupons I receive from Ulta. This time I got "Peachy Apricot" - a metallic shade that mirrors the actual fruits as well as being very lightweight.

I know - it seems like a lot of purchases in a short amount of time. But believe it or not, I did need most of these things. And, of course, there were a few that I just really wanted. But I feel that it's important to figure out what you need before what you want. Overall, I'd say I was most happy with my body wash purchase since I now know I can get it from a location that's only thirty minutes away rather than ordering it online from Nordstrom and having to wait (not that I'm not a patient person).

I hope that you feel inspired enough to make your own purchases! Stay tuned for those individual product reviews I promised.

Keep an eye out for further posts on some of these products as I use them. Have any of you ever used these? Let me know in the comments below. xx
