This post may seem quite long but definitely worth the time to read. So take a seat and check out my experiences with these little beauties (and not so beautiful)...
Urban Decay Perversion: I received a sample of this from Ulta and I was excited to try it out. It has a super soft brush, like the Rimmel Scandal Eyes one, and does a brilliant job of getting every lash to look very black and full. It only lifted my lashes slightly but I was a big fan of this one. It does have a primer you can layer with it but I haven’t had the privilege of doing so. I’ve heard the primer makes the mascara so much better, so I imagine if I return to buy the full size of this the primer might slip into my basket too.
Benefit They’re Real!:
They’re Real! has got to be one of the biggest mascaras with a lot of hype
surrounding it, and it is for a good reason. This is really one of the best
mascara’s out there. I first used it last summer and fell in love with the results
and finally mid-winter I bought the full size. This mascara has a very unique
plastic bristle brush, it has the standard mascara wand but at the end is a
domed tip with bristles to help get every single lash, no matter how
small. This mascara really does make my
lashes look incredible and “out to there” as the description says on any
website that sells this. This mascara is absolutely
one every girl needs in her make up collection.
MAKE UP FOR EVER Smoky
Extravagant: As this mascara is part of this year’s birthday gift from
Sephora, I was excited to get my gift with my last order. I didn’t know
anything about the mascara until my friend said she wasn’t happy with its
results so I was curious to see how it would do for me. I was actually pleased
with the result it gave me. The brush shape is one of the most unique ones in
my collection; it is full at the bottom and gets skinnier at the top. It is
almost pear shaped brush in a mascara tube. Upon wearing it a second time, this
is one of my favorites that I would definitely buy in full size.
Calvin Klein One:
Ulta’s birthday gift to reward card holders, it is a mascara unlike any I have
ever seen. At the top of the wand there is a switch that you can turn to make
the brush shorter for more volume or make elongate the brush for more length. I
didn’t like how hard plastic the brush is, I feel like the product doesn’t coat
my lashes like I would wish it would.
Chanel Inimitable
Intense: This mascara sample is one of my higher end choices. I wore it
just the other day to work after properly prepping my lashes and I discovered I
really liked the results. The brush is a bit hard with plastic bristles that
are separated enough to get into every lash. It helped lift and separate each
individual lash. It made my lash line look nice and full, which is what I
really look for in a mascara. I would probably pick up a full size of this one
if I wanted to.
Lancome Définicils:
A favorite of my mom’s for years, it didn’t work as well on me. The brush
seemed to be too skinny and hard for me. The formula didn’t coat my lashes well
either. It may have been an older sample of this mascara but in the end I
returned this sample back to my mother’s make up bag.
Chanel Le Volume:
Chanel is known for this mascara and how well it works. However for me, I find
that I have to have an extremely steady hand because if I do one stroke too
many, my perfect eye look went out the window. The brush when you look at it,
is full of product and can clump lashes together in bunches. When it does work
properly, it gives lashes a lifted look and every one is coated. Definitely a
tricky one to try.
Clinique High Impact:
This has mascara has been a good pick from Clinique for me for years. It has a
soft thin brush and it gets every lash really black and coated. Upon
comparison, the brush is like the Jordana mascara but a bit bigger and softer.
I still do enjoy this one and really need to wear it more often.
