I finally had the opportunity to escape rainy Charleston for
equally cloudy Charlotte. Luckily the weather stayed nice and dry for the One
Direction concert that night. Once we got into town, my mother and I headed to South
Park mall to do some shopping.
Inside Nordstrom, is a Topshop pop-up shop, which is a lucky
little feature inside select Nordstroms across the country. It was stocked with
new things, including Cara Delevingne’s new AW14 campaign was everywhere, too
much to my enjoyment. I picked out a black hi-low top that would be perfect for
my job (and I also tend to wear black on the regular as of last year). It is
the perfect top to go with a pair of jeans and I think it would look even
better with a pair of heeled boots. But being about 5’10, I don’t need any
added height so I will be pairing it with my flat Steve Madden boots I
purchased last year.
I also fiddled about in Sephora, testing out things that
were on my list, but I only walked out with one item. I chose the Soap &
Glory Sugar Crush Body Buttercream, the body wash smelling just too sweet for
me. With the main notes of lime and kiwi, this is another product in my
collection that smells like a margarita for my skin (the other one is a facial
scrub from Lush). I’ll be posting a separate review in the upcoming weeks.
Unable to resist a good sale, even at Anthropologie, I found
a pair of large cat-eye like sunglasses with tortoise shell frames. After visiting
another Anthropologie in Charlotte, I picked up four drinking glasses that I have
had my eyes on for months. I finally purchased these little glasses, which have
watermelons around them, almost like a band.
Lastly, I couldn’t resist - after the concert ended, I ended
up buying merchandise. I decided to buy the tour poster, featuring all five
boys from their photo shoot for their third album, ‘Midnight Memories.’ I
wanted something to remember this wild and crazy show – and a poster was
perfect for me!
