Where Have I Been?
Friday, October 26, 2018
Okay, maybe it's just me but these two weeks away from my blog have meant more to me than it probably has to you.
But it's me, I'm back and here to spill what you've missed...if you don't a) know me in real life b) follow me on social media c) do all of the above
Other than the cluster of spots that took up residence on my face for two/three weeks...I haven't had a chance at much free time. I've slathered on Good Genes every night in hopes of fading these spots (which sooooo has been helping) and keeping my skincare on point amongst the craziness. My life might be a mess but at least my skin's (mostly) clear!
My first semester at College of Charleston has kept me super busy between annoying Latin quizzes, outlines and papers for my Communication classes, and planning on building a miniature boat for extra credit in my History class...did I mention I'm the oldest one there other than my professor? Ya, I'm thriving.
I've bounced back and forth at work but I finally realized this month that I needed some time for myself. This was a breaking point for me because knowing when to slow down and do what's best for you is more important than anything. Tbh, if you don't slow down before you get too ahead, that's when you mess up. It's not a weakness, it's being self aware.
Now you're almost caught up! School was crazy! Work was busy! I made too many trips to Starbucks and too little to Target! It was a dark time, let's not dwell on it. Thankfully, I had time away from work for five days (not school unfortunately, boo) when my good friend Indi came to visit Charleston.
We had the best time doing everything from eating, shopping, and exploring the city I call my home. We met for the first time in person last December when I came to London and we did pretty much the same as above...except in one day. Indi and I have kept in touch since, even sending each other birthday presents from across the pond in September...even though our birthdays are both in August...but when am I ever timely with a present?
We made sure Indi had the Full American Experience like eating a chicken biscuit and Chick-Fil-A, visiting Costco, Target, Walmart, and Ulta all in one day, and even losing her Pumpkin Spice virginity too. She waited to get a Pumpkin Spice with me, even though I don't give a f about a Pumpkin Spice. It was the experience folks! There was plenty of time spent in the aisles of Sephora (I know I said I wasn't working but how can I not go into the mothership with my equally makeup obsessed friend?) and at one point I got yelled at in my car by a guy on a bike. Cheers.
I've got one full month of school left before exams (yikes) and it's almost the best time of the year! I can't wait to decorate my new house (yes, I moved as well, to another rental house) with lights and let my inner-Clark Griswold shine. Sephora is lit with bomb gift sets this year and I can't wait to pick some up and divide them out to my loved ones this Christmas.
In my newly painted light blue bathroom, I've cracked back into my Sunday Riley Blue Moon cleansing balm, started my second DE Protini (!!), and I'm fully obsessed with Murad's new Recovery Serum (Cannabis, Niacinamide, and Indigo- yes). Expect a big ol' empties on my Instagram near the end of the year (if not sooner). In the makeup table, I added Norvina to my Anastasia palette family, a replacement blush from the tragic death of my Tarte Exposed...it was replaced with Charlotte Tilbury's Cheek to Chic in Ecstasy, natural and glowy enough for every day, and restocks of Charlotte Tilbury's Vintage Vamp eyeshadow quad (the first one faced a tragic death also) and Glossier Lashslick (the first one is on it's way out)(relive the carnage under my "Product Reviews/Updates highlight)
October's been busy but thankfully I found pockets of time to decorate outside, watch Hocus Pocus, and even make my own candles with my mom and Indi (blog post coming soon). See ya soon...it'll be November before we know it!
