I love being able to talk about a brand that's grown within my own store and I've watched their progress on social media too! With the most fun packaging and concepts, Glow Recipe can come off like a gimmicky brand but it's what on the inside that counts. With K-beauty origins, Glow Recipe continues to wow me with their launches and consistency in making great products! They also just earned their Clean at Sephora seal.
I first tried the Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser almost two years ago, which was the original formulation. I had no problems with the original one but Glow Recipe decided to start over and make the new one, which I own now, more hydrating and better at taking off makeup. This truly has a jelly-like consistency that's truly bouncy, like the name says. I usually smush it between my fingertips to make it easier to create a lather. I use it at night as my second cleanse to get the rest of my makeup and excess dirt off my skin. I've gotten so many of my friends on this cleanser, it's just incredible.
Next came the watermelon theme from Glow Recipe. The first sleeping mask I ever tried was the Watermelon Glow one and I remember thinking, "a sleeping mask? Why not?" I looooved this. I still do because it lightly hydrates while exfoliating and polishing the skin overnight. All of Glow Recipe's sleeping masks are pillow-proof so no worries about rubbing your face all over your pillow. I truly believe this makes your skin smoother and more hydrated by morning, but I do recommend using it several times to give yourself time to see a difference.
Glow Recipe catered towards the oily-skin faces out there with the cutest pink bottle you've ever seen. The Watermelon Pink Juice moisturizer is like a drink of watermelon juice (yes I know what I said) for your face. I typically use 1 1/2 to 2 pumps of this in the mornings before makeup to give my skin a little love but I can also use a hydrating primer over this sometimes for a little extra something-something. All the watermelon products all smells like Jolly Ranchers, so you're welcome.
They expanded the watermelon party with the finest spray mist I've ever used. When it says ultra-fine, it means it. I'm not the biggest fan of the upside down packaging. It works how the sleeping mask would too but in a mist. It's hydrating, cooling, soothing, and mildly exfoliate thanks to two forms of Watermelon, Hyaluronic Acid, and Hibiscus. There's even a little Apple Cider Vinegar in there, wild! I love to use this at night after cleansing or after masking for some extra oomph.
Glow Recipe also has a growing range of Avocado-centric products like a sleeping mask and a new eye sleeping mask. The sleeping mask features two forms of avocado, encapsulated retinol (so it's more gentle), and other complimentary ingredients. The eye mask is almost the same except for the use of coffeeberry as an antioxidant booster. I'm still testing these out but I know the Avocado sleeping mask won't be my favorite because of how rich and thick it is for my skin. GR joined the Vitamin C world with a serum of their own. Their Vitamin C comes from pineapple at a whooping 15% but I'd only recommend it if you like that dried pineapple juice smell.
This growing K-beauty brand has sooo much going for it and I can't wait to see what's next! Their partner brand, Sweet Chef, is even available now at Target!
